A body has been discovered in the Woodham Burn area of Newton Aycliffe today.
It’s understood a group of children made the gruesome discovery at about 8am this morning on their way to school, near the bridge at the bottom of Burn Lane.
The body is believed to be that of a 17-year-old male.
Police have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A cordon is currently in place on Burn Lane and motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
