Aycliffe students target top universities

July 13th, 2015 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Students from Woodham Academy were recently invited to attend an information session at the SAGE Gateshead, in order to develop their understanding of what is required to get into the country’s top universities.

The most able students from around the North East of England gathered to listen to experts in this field, share information and experience regarding universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and Newcastle.

Lecturers were on hand to outline the courses that are available, the grades required for entry, extra-curricular opportunities and also the additional aspects of an application which universities look for when considering students.

This was the first event targeted at Woodham Academy’s most able students as part of the More Able Academy, due to launch fully in September.

This will be a bespoke package of educational and personal enrichment, focussed on the highest achieving students.

More details, including a launch event, will follow in the new academic year.
