Newton Aycliffe’s first team lost their first game of the season.

Here’s a round-up of the weekend’s first cricket action of 2019…

Saturday 13th April – NYSD Division 2

Stockton 1st XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was sunny but cold. Newton Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Stockton 1st XI 265 for 7 after 50 overs
Luke Telford 2 for 31, Jack Slatcher 2 for 64 and Michael Howe 2 for 71

Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 113 all out after 34.3 overs
Adam Randall 30, Michael Howe 23 and Joe Haines 17

Newton Aycliffe first team’s season got off to a poor start losing by 152 runs away to Stockton 1st team. Adam Randall (sponsored by DTS Joinery) playing his first game since returning to the club, batted well for Aycliffe, top scoring with an excellent 30 from 48 balls faces, hitting five boundaries in the process.
