Aycliffe Juniors round-up

March 5th, 2019 Martin Walker Youth Football 0 comments 0

The Aycliffe Juniors season continued in to spring with another exciting round of fixtures.

The Under 7’s White started their Russell Foster Spring league campaign off with a 7-1 win against Pass Soccer Blues. Jack R, Jack C and man of the match Joel scored two goals each with Tyler adding another.

The Under 7’s Juniors played a friendly game away at Montague Reds and won 4-2. The goals came from Jonah (2), Jack C and man of the match Alfie.

The Under 9’s enjoyed an open game at Billingham. It was the hosts who got the first two goals before both Oliver and Callum scored to make things level at half time. Man of the match Callum went on to complete his hatrick and put Aycliffe ahead. Billingham though finished the match strongly to win 6-4. In the development game Stephen, Zeke and man of the match Finley scored in a 3-2 win.

The Under 10’s White hosted Shildon Youth and the Aycliffe team were determined to improve after losing 8-1 to the same opponents earlier in the season. The game was goalless at the break with the visitors eventually breaking down a stubborn home defence in the second half to go on and win 3-0. The whole team were named as players of the match after a much improved performance.

The Under 10’s Claret played away at Seaton Carew. They put in a spirited performance in challenging windy conditions near the coast. Roman had a strong game in midfield to win the man of the match award but two fortunate goals for the hosts saw them win the game 2-0.

The Under 11’s Whites played at home against TIBS. Niall scored for Aycliffe and Harvey put in a man of the match performance but the game was lost by two goals to one.

The Under 12’s played their final league game of the season at home against Saxon Juniors. It was a great end to the league campaign as they ran out 5-0 winners. The goals came from Thomas (2), Zak, Dan and man of the match Charlie.

The Under 13’s Russell Foster League team hosted Swalwell Swifts at Woodham. The final score did not reflect a keenly contested game which the visitors won 4-1. Josh was the man of the match and Lewis scored the Aycliffe goal.

After two weeks off the Under 13’s TJFA League team travelled to play Leven Athletic. Evan scored after only two minutes but the hosts then equalised before Liam and Zack added goals to make it 3-1 at the break. In a scrappy second half Zack scored again making the final score 4-1 to Aycliffe.

The Under 17’s played away at Kader FC and a superb strike from Jack put them ahead 1-0. Two goals were then conceded from set pieces before the break. The Aycliffe team worked really hard in the second half and this was rewarded when man of the match Noah curled a free kick in to the top corner to equalise in the last minute. This was a really well deserved league point gained against strong opposition.
