Aycliffe Juniors round-up

A round-up of Newton Aycliffe Juniors Action.

Under 8’s Blues – Started their new half season at home to Darlington Young Bulls. A fast start saw a quick double from Jude, with Aycliffe controlling throughout. Darlington came out fighting in the second half and made it a much closer game. A second half double from Alex kept things tight and ensured it was a nail-biting end to the game. POTM was Nate, Parents POTM was Oliver and Opposition POTM went to Jude.

Under 8’s – Travelled to Billingham, Aycliffe started slowly and never really got into the game. Goals were scored by Cooper (2), and Oliver.

Under 9’s – Welcomed Bishop St Marys Bishops in a very tough match. Aycliffe started strong playing lovely fast paced football against a big strong Bishop. Goals coming from Linc (2) and Connor. MOTM was Connor for fantastic work rate throughout the game.

Under 9’s Reds – Put in a battling performance, with a much improved second half performance. Goals from Michael (2) his first for Aycliffe and Fox. POTM was Michael and PPOTM was Jacob.

Under 10’s – Entertained Leven Juniors and played well throughout the game. Aycliffe’s goal was scored by goalkeeper Harvey P who scored a halfway line free kick into the bottom corner which secured a great result. Another clean sheet meant only fourteen goals conceded in fourteen league games. Opposition MOTM was Harvey P for his crucial saves and goal. Parents MOTM was Isaac D for his hard work and energy in midfield.

Under 11’s Reds – Played Eaglescliffe, in a great game with some very controlled football. Goals from Charlie, Koa and Jace, made the day comfortable for Aycliffe. In only his second game, Bryan picked up a deserved MOTM award.

Under 11’s Blacks – Entertained Billingham Junior Lions, with a strong display all over the pitch. Alfie S enjoyed his day scoring a wonderful hat-trick with JJ adding two goals and Grayson rounding up the scoring. POTM was awarded by the opposition manager to Alfie S for his work rate and hat-trick.

Under 13’s Whites – Progressed into the semi-final of the cup after a 6-2 win over Shotton Colts. James helped himself to a hat-trick, with Michal adding two goals and Albie the other. MOTM was Michal.

Under 13’s Juniors – Visited Redcar Athletic for a cup tie that was Aycliffe’s first game since the 22nd of December. It was a comfortable win with goals from Will, Dom, Phoebe, and a hat-trick from Jonah. MOTM was Shay and OMOTM was Joel.

Under 14’s – Entertained Prissick Rovers, trailing 3-2 with 10 minutes to go, Aycliffe dug deep to turn the game on its head and win 4-3. Goals from Leyton W (3) and MOTM Lucas R secured the win.

Under 16’s Whites – Played their first game since 17th November against Darlington TSC, going down 3-1. Aycliffe’s goal was a penalty from Jonah with MOTM going to Lewis.
