Aycliffe Juniors round-up

A round-up of Newton Aycliffe Juniors Action.

Under 8’s Blues – Travelled to Barnard Castle, Aycliffe put in an impressive performance which showed how well the team are developing. Opposition and parents POTM went to Lennox for some outstanding saves. Goals from both games were scored by Carter, Alex (2), and Poppy.

Under 8’s – Entertained Stockton Town Blues, in a very tight physical affair. Aycliffe took control and dominated the ball, getting their just rewards with goals from Harry, Joey, Matthew, and Oliver.

Under 9’s Reds – Faced Hartlepool St Francis Royals away in what was an exciting game of football. Aycliffe’s goal was scored by Jakey, whilst Ollie was awarded POTM and Michael was awarded PPOTM.

Under 9’s Juniors – Played Billingham Town in an end-to-end game with both teams playing some great football. Billingham took the lead towards the end of the first half and Aycliffe woke up with goals from Kian and Lincoln. MOTM went to Connor for tireless work on the wing.

Under 10’s Whites – Travelled to Billingham, playing some great football, working hard as a team. Goalkeeper Freddie made some amazing throughout and was a deserving MOTM. Archer was parent’s POTM for an outstanding performance on the wing creating numerous chances.

Under 10’s – Travelled to face Darlington Young Bulls, starting well controlling the game. Alfie T scored his first two league goals either side of half-time allowing Aycliffe to keep control. Then Eddie M scored a quick-fire hat trick from Eddie Moultrie allowed us to win the game. Opposition managers man of the match to Eddie for his hard work and energy. Parents player of the match Alfie Thomas for a superior performance up front.

Under 11’s Blacks – Played against Redcar Blues, despite dominating the first half possession, Aycliffe could not take their chances and Redcar scored three breakaway goals. Liam B saved a penalty which woke Aycliffe up and they scored through Alfie S, Grayson, and Birthday boy Jack B who netted 2. POTM was Alfie S who assisted three goals and led by example with urgency, battling and determination.

Under 11’s Reds – Played against Kader in a game which was back and forth. Aycliffe scored two great goals through Andrew and Charlie.

Under 12’s Whites – Faced Durham United Tigers, Aycliffe posed an attacking threat with some excellent passing football but could not find the goal on a frustrating day. MOTM was William.

Under 12’s Blacks – Hosted Eaglescliffe Elements Blues today, starting strongly with a goal through Kai. There were a couple of injuries to the team, and they could not score any further goals. MOTM was Will.

Under 13’s Blacks – Travelled to face top of the league Ryton and Crawcrook. In a much-improved performance from last week, Aycliffe were narrowly edged out 3-2. Conor & Rhys scored the goals, with parents & coaches MOTM awarded to Cody for great defensive work and creating chances.

Under 13’s Juniors – Travelled away to face Pools Youth Blues hoping to continue their fantastic start to the season. Aycliffe run away with the game in a 7-0 win. The goals were scored by Marley, Will and Jonah who scored an amazing five goals, taking his tally to thirty for the season in only nine games.

Under 14’s – Welcomed Barnard Castle Tornados, after going behind midway through the first half, Aycliffe grabbed an equaliser before half time. Into the second half Aycliffe took control and were rewarded quick fire goals to take total control of the game. MOTM Oscar J scored a hat-trick and Layton W scored the other goal.

Under 16’s Blacks – Travelled to take on Hetton Lyons with an injury ravaged squad. Trailing 2-0 at the break, Aycliffe dug deep to get themselves back into the game and recuse a point in a 3-3 draw, with Jayden helping himself to a hat-trick. MOTM was Danny.

Under 23’s – Lost 2-1 away at New Durham, on a tough day for the team, it could have been different if a couple of decisions had favoured Aycliffe. Harvey scored Aycliffe’s goal.
