AYCLIFFE FIREWORKS DISPLAY BACK ON – OFFICIAL!

September 26th, 2014 Martin Walker Community, News 2 comments 0

Great Aycliffe Town Council has confirmed the annual Fireworks Display will return this year.

The authority had scrapped the event last year due to safety concerns, but has confirmed it will return for Aycliffe residents only on Wednesday 5th November this year.

The fun will consist of a funfair for young children which will open at 5.30 pm, and the beacon will be lit at 7pm with the fireworks to follow.

Due to safety concerns, GATC has decided to only permit Great Aycliffe residents entry to the display, and have therefore made it a pre-ticketed event.

The Fireworks Display will be a FREE family event and residents can apply for a free wristband by attending Oak Leaf Sports Complex on one of five sessions, please see below:

• Sunday 26th October – 11.00 am until 4.00 pm
• Monday 27th October – 3.00 pm until 6.00 pm
• Tuesday 28th October – 10.00 am until 1.00 pm
• Wednesday 29th October – 6.00 pm until 9.00pm
• Thursday 30th October – 1.00 pm until 4.00 pm

You must provide proof of residency with a utility bill. Tickets are limited and will be issued on a first come first served basis.

One person may apply for their families wristbands, however please note there are a limited number of wristbands available.

The site will be secured and you will not be able to gain access unless you are wearing a wristband.

If you require any further information please contact Rachel Goddard on 01325 300600.
