Aycliffe care home shortlisted for a National Care Award

A Newton Aycliffe care home has been shortlisted for a major national honour.

HC-One’s Defoe Court care home is celebrating after being shortlisted in the National Care Awards.

The awards, organised by leading social care publication, Caring Times Magazine, celebrates the very best people in the long-term care sector.

Defoe Court, which has been shortlisted for the Care Team category, was nominated because the team are continuously developing innovative ways to improve their standards, skills and expertise to deliver the best possible care for the home’s Residents.

Home manager Sarah Todd said: “We are all delighted to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award, it’s a pleasure to be part of team of dedicated and like-minded individuals.”

The award ceremony will take place in November at the Hilton London Metropole, where the Defoe Court team hope to be revealed as 2021 Care Team winner.

Located on Defoe Crescent in Aycliffe, the home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen in County Durham that require residential or nursing care.

It also boasts a 10/10 average user rating on the sectors leading comparison website, carehome.co.uk.

HC-One was founded in 2011 and currently employs around 22,000 people caring for 14,000 residents across 327 homes in the UK.
