Are you registered to vote?

May 12th, 2017 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

The UK Parliamentary General election will take place on Thursday, 8 June and to have your say you must be registered to vote.

Poll cards will be delivered to residents in County Durham over the next few days.

Anyone currently registered on the electoral register and eligible to vote in this election will receive a poll card providing details of their allocated polling station.

Anyone who is not registered or has recently moved house and has not informed electoral services is encouraged to register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote by Monday May 22.

Anyone who is listed on the electoral register can request a postal or proxy vote. The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Tuesday, May 23, and for proxy vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday, May 31.

To request a paper copy of either application form, contact Durham County Council’s electoral services team on 03000 261 212 or email [email protected]
