Agency ‘proud’ to back Aycliffe Business Make Your Mark Awards

February 21st, 2024 Martin Walker Business 0 comments 0

The owner of a recruitment agency says she’s proud to back the Aycliffe Business Mark Your Mark Awards as the event is close to her heart.

Darlington-based Recruitrite is sponsoring the Businessperson of the Year category for the awards event being held at Hardwick Hall Hotel on May 9.

The agency joins Gestamp, Ebac, Stiller Warehousing and Distribution, Husqvarna, Business Durham and GEM Partnership as category sponsors so far.

Recruitrite won the Digital Transformation trophy at the 2023 Tees Tech Awards.

And the company’s founder, Melissa Coutts – who grew up in Newton Aycliffe and still lives in neighbouring Heighington – also won the Inspiring Others category at last year’s Tees Businesswomen Awards.

“We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Aycliffe Business Make Your Mark Awards and, specifically, the Businessperson of the Year Award,” said Melissa.

“I think it’s great to shine a spotlight on the fantastic people driving our local business scene, shaping the economy, and inspiring others along the way.

“Supporting local events like this aligns perfectly with our company ethos, and being from Aycliffe myself, I love seeing so many of my peers that have done so well and are leading businesses across the business park, and bringing great things to the region.

“I’m looking forward to reading the fantastic entries and getting stuck into the judging process.

“And, of course, we’ll be there on the evening cheering on all the incredible nominees and winners!”.

Aycliffe Business Park Community (ABPC) board member Sarah Monk – pictured above (left) with Caroline Noble, Melissa and Leandra Smith of Recruitrite – added: “We’re delighted to have Recruitrite on board as a category sponsor this year.

“I’ve seen Mel and her team win a number of awards in recent years and it’s fantastic to see her giving something back with our Make Your Mark Awards.”

A small number of categories are available for sponsorship, including Company of the Year (Headline sponsor), Innovation Award, Newcomer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Apprentice of the Year.

Businesses interested in the last remaining sponsorship packages can contact Martin Walker on 01642 450255 or email [email protected].

• Entries for the Aycliffe Business Make Your Mark Awards are open, with an entry deadline of Tuesday, February 27. Entry forms and criteria is available at www.aycliffebusinesspark/awards
