20 YEARS FOR AYCLIFFE CARE HOME

January 30th, 2013 Martin Walker Community, News 1 comments 0

Aycliffe Care Home has celebrated 20 years of providing specialist care for elderly residents.

Members of staff, residents and their family members joined in the anniversary party, which included a birthday cake and refreshments, and members of the public were invited to have a look around the home.

Located on Burnhope Way, Aycliffe Care Home, which opened in January 1993 and has cared for more than 450 residents, is a purpose built 54 bedded home providing 24 hour care for general residential and elderly mental infirm (EMI) care and nursing.

Aycliffe Care Home is part of Akari Care and aims to maintain lifestyles as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home, with an extensive range of activities which individuals can enjoy and benefit from.

Mrs Doreen Bonnar, Aycliffe Care Home Manager, said: “I am very proud of the 20 years of excellent care that the home has provided residents. Many members of staff have worked at the home for more than 10 years and have a wealth of knowledge of the care sector, ensuring a high quality and consistent standard of support throughout the years.

“Everyone enjoyed the party to mark this fantastic achievement and we look forward to celebrating many more successful years together.”
