Police are hunting a man after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus she boarded in Newton Aycliffe.
At 9.16am on Tuesday 19th March, the 19-year-old female boarded the No.7 Arriva Bus at Stephenson Way in the town.
The suspect also boarded the bus at the same stop. Initially both the victim and suspect sat apart from one another towards the rear of the bus.
Whilst en-route to Durham the suspect at one point stood up from his seat and went to talk to the driver.
Whilst stopped at Ferryhill Market Place the suspect then went and sat next to the victim.
Between Ferryhill Market Place and Darlington Road (A167) the suspect proceeded to sexually touch the victim by using his hand to rub the inside of her leg.
Despite having his hand pushed away the suspect has persisted with this behavior until the victim stood up and got off at Darlington Road, Durham.
Police would like to speak to the male in the photograph. He’s described as an Asian/Affro Caribbean male, aged 30-40, dark complexion, clean shaven, medium build, wearing black pull-on hat, black jacket with two white stripes running down outside of each arm, dark coloured bottoms. He was carrying a white Aldi carrier bag.

May 8, 2013 at 6:45 pmI am going to post a link on my facebook for this story, I wish she had stood up and told the bus driver at the time, but alas she obviously couldnt for whatever reason. I hope she is okay and that his guy is found and questioned.
