Labour candidate for Woodham Ward

February 17th, 2020 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Labour Party candidate for the Woodham Ward by-election, Brandon Fleet, on why he should be elected to Aycliffe Town Council…

I am very pleased to be standing in the Woodham by-election as your local Labour candidate.

I feel fortunate to have been brought up in Newton Aycliffe and I am passionate about my local area and the interests and needs of those living here.

As a town councillor I will work my hardest to ensure the voices of everyone are heard and listened to. As a younger person, I understand that young people are often not listened to when it comes to issues which matter to them. This is something I wish to change.

If you choose to elect me I will make sure young people will be represented and their voices heard and their needs considered.

As a committed environmentalist, I believe that the green areas of Newton Aycliffe and Woodham should continue to be adequately protected and maintained.

I wish to help Great Aycliffe Town Council follow in the footsteps of Durham County Council in taking a national lead in cutting carbon emissions and investing in green technology and green space.

I shall be out campaigning over the next few weeks and am looking forward to talking to as many as people as possible and hearing what they say about what changes they would like to see for the future of our town, and would be honoured if I am given the opportunity to represent them.

Brandon Fleet
Labour Party candidate
